Clay Therapy in Beauty Care for Our Little Furry Friends

You are familiar with this rocky material that has been used for centuries for its many therapeutic properties.

But did you know that it can also be very beneficial for your dog and cat?

Both internally and externally.

These natural care methods are called clay therapy.
They are extremely varied, depending notably on the type of clay you use.

In this article, we will focus on your four-legged companion's coat and the clays used in our shampoos.

I am passionate about clay-based treatments.

I studied clay therapy to integrate it into my grooming salon treatments with great success!

For example, Manicouagan clay:

This unique clay comes from Pointe-aux-Outardes, in the Manicouagan region.

It contains sodium, calcium, iron, potassium, and zinc. It acts as an exfoliant, astringent, moisturizer, revitalizer, and cleansing agent.

Thanks to its excellent absorbent, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, it is used to soothe dermatological irritations.

It balances and deeply cleans dull or oily coats.

This marine clay effectively regulates sebaceous gland activity.

White clay:

Less known than green clay, it nevertheless has its place among the beauty treatments for our furry companions.

Due to its high mineral content, rich deposits of iron oxide, magnesium, zinc, calcite, silicon oxide, and other trace elements help nourish the coat while protecting it from damage and promoting its shine.

• Promote the elimination of dandruff

• Help soothe sensitive and especially dry skin

• Help combat skin itching

• Give softness, lightness, and volume to the coat

• Help protect the keratin fiber

Pink clay:

It combines the properties of the white and red clays that compose it: softening, nourishing, and regenerating.

It is perfect for sensitive, reactive, and dull skin.

The gentlest of clays, pink clay is the favorite for hypersensitive skin

  • Gentle purifying action: it deeply cleanses the skin without harming it
  • Soothing power: it calms irritations and redness
  • Remineralizing effect: it provides essential minerals to the skin
  • Regenerative properties: it promotes cell renewal
  • Softening virtues: it leaves the skin soft and velvety

Thanks to clay, you guarantee your four-legged friend purified and regenerated skin. A true moment of well-being!

Warning: Several signs should alert you regarding your pet's skin and coat and encourage you to consult a veterinarian:

  • Itching;
  • Skin lesions (black scabs, patches, pimples, etc.);
  • Hair loss;
  • Growths, tumors;
  • A bad smell despite a good shampoo;
  • Parasites or fleas.
